Proper work of the ovaries is responsible for a girl’s proper puberty and forming of the female type of appearance. In this time they begin to function and end it in the menopause period. They produce two extremely important hormones – estrogen in the first phase and progesterone in the second phase. The rhythmic function of hormone production in the ovaries is regulated by hypothalamus and hypophysis that are situated in a brain. If they function abnormally, it can cause various diseases in the different spheres of a woman’s health and lead to serious consequences.
